After just one week of Aurora's journey to recovery, she's improved immensely! As you can see in the picture to the left, she looks more hydrated than she was before; if you refer to the Gecko Recovery #1 blog, you will notice her regenerated, still-growing tail was very shriveled up looking. In the picture however, it has began to grow a little plump. However, I did notice either some scratch marks or bite marks on Aurora's right side of her body. So, the Dr. Meisko, the veternarian I took Aurora to, was right; her tank-mate Nyx was being a bully. Aurora is still being housed in her 16 quart Sterilite tub. She has been fed a Gecko Slurry twice a day all week, accompanied by a warm bath (soak). I am not having to force feed her the Slurry anymore, but she still won't eat meal worms or crickets. Her eyes do not look as sunken in either. I had to get a warm q-tip and clean out her eyes, to help her open them. She can now open her right eye just fine, and walks around with it open. Her left eye still remains slightly sunken in and closed though...
After just one week, she's done so much better! Her will to survive is still there. Support her recovery process on Twitter by using the hash tag: #Gecko Recovery. Thank you.
