Comment by Christine P on April 21, 2012 at 6:45pm Well, back in November I got a call to take a ball python. I said sure! When I came to see her, I was appalled. She was a 2 month old baby, and hadn't eaten in a month and a half. She had retained shed, and was defensive and scared. She weighed less than 100 grams. She was being kept on wood chips and had no heat. They had her outside of the cage sometimes all day because they thought it was cute about how she hissed and struck at them when they tried to take her out of the ball form
Now, she is a happy, sweet girl. I feed her once per week, 3 mice or so. She is now 450 grams. She has had 4 perfect sheds with me, and has never skipped a meal with me. She has a setup of aspen and 2 hides, and a water. She has a warm hide and a cool hide. As I started to give her constant meals, she stopped biting me, and is now my sweetest snake out of my 3. I can kiss her on the head and she doesn't flinch. She enjoys coming out 3 times a week. Such a sweet girl :)
